Tibetan Rug Care Instructions

Initial Fluff Removal:

If you notice slight shedding during the initial use, don't worry! This is not actual shedding but minor fluff from the wool rug, caused by the hand-carving process. You can easily remove it using a vacuum or a damp cloth.

Weekly Maintenance:

Our rugs naturally resist moisture, prevent slipping, and reduce static, noise, and stains. Vacuuming once a week keeps your rug clean. If your rug has fringes, fold them under the rug when vacuuming to avoid damage. Alternatively, hang the rug and gently pat both sides with a tool to remove dust.

Vacuuming Tips:

When vacuuming, go over each side twice—first against the nap to lift dirt, then with the nap to restore its original direction and prevent color differences. Spot Cleaning: Avoid using bleach or harsh chemicals. For spills, quickly blot the liquid with a paper towel. Then, gently dab the stain with a damp cloth and a small amount of stain remover. For crumbs, shake the rug gently and brush away any remaining debris with a soft brush.

Professional Cleaning:

We recommend a professional deep clean every 1-2 years to extend the rug's life. Small rugs can be hand-washed with a gentle wool cleaner. Air-dry in a cool place. For the best results, consider annual professional cleaning.

A Well-Cared-for Rug Lasts a Lifetime:

Proper care ensures your rug remains beautiful for years. In Tibetan families, these rugs are often passed down through generations.
